Chef de Mission Seminar ends after three days of meetings
Delegates from over 100 countries were together to learn more about the upcoming Paralympic Games. Liu Jingmin, vice-mayor of Beijing and executive vice-president of BOCOG said that “the meeting enhanced understanding and friendship between the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) and the national and regional Paralympic committees (NPCs), and BOCOG will seriously adopt the valuable suggestions of the attendants”.
With a record number of participants in the seminar, during the presentations delegates had the opportunity to debate, express their opinion and requirements.
The President of the Americas Paralympic Committee, Mr. Andrew Parsons, said: “ the Chef de Mission seminar was a benefit to all NPCs which attended the event. From the information passed on, they will be able to plan with details their participation in Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games. I would like to remind that APC is available for those NPCs, which could not be present at the seminar to explain any question they might have regarding their participation in the Games next year”.
The delegates also were able to visit some competition venues, the Paralympic Village, and participate in the one-year countdown ceremony for the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games.
