National Scholar Championship of Athletics in Nicaragua
During 7th and 8th of September, the National Paralympic Comitttee (NPC) Nicarágua organized the First National Scholar Championship of Athletics for People with Disability.
Around 125 students, between 13 and 17 years old, with visual and hearing impairments, mild intellectual disability, Down Syndrome, Autism and Cerebral Palsy competed in the event. Each group competed within their disability in 100, 200 and 400 meters, long jump, shot put, discus and javelin.
The National Scholar Championship of Athletics served as qualification criteria. To represent Nicaragua, 17 boys and 13 girls, were selected to compete from 29th September to 5th October in the First Central American Students Games for People with Disability in Guatemala.
