This week, the second Loterias Caixa Brazil National Paralympic Circuit of Athletics and Swimming will take place in São Paulo, Brazil. From 6th to 7th of October, more than 400 athletes from swimming and athletics will be competing in Brazil, for the first time after the great success of the Rio 2007 Parapan American Games.

Throughout the year, the Brazilian Paralympic Committee (CPB) together with Loterias Caixa, organize 5 regional circuits of athletics and swimming. During each regional, athletes score for the national ranking where the top 10 in each modality have all the expenses covered and top 130 receive accommodation, meals and transportation.

The event is an open competition and Cuba, Mexico, Argentina and Uruguay have already participated with their athletes. In this last event, 4 athletes from Argentina and 1 from Uruguay confirmed participation to represent their countries. Besides the competition, the promoters organize educational actions such as visiting schools and promoting the Paralympic Sport with workshops and experiencing sports with Paralympians.

To close the year, the Loterias Caixa International Meeting for Athletics and Swimming is being organized. About 65 top athletes from over 30 countries have been invited to participate in the event to be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 13th to 16th December.
