Since November 8th, top athletes of 22 countries are competing in Cali, Colombia, going after their last chance to accumulate points and qualify for 2008 Paralympic Games.

The track events finished today, and some surprises have happened where the Brazilian athlete Soelito Ghor defeated the world paraciclying champion from Italy, Fabio Triboli as well as the silver medal, the German Wolfgang Sacher. And China athletes look like ready not only to welcome everyone, and also fight for the medals, as they are leading the medal tally by the end of 3rd day of competition.

After a pause on the 15th athletes get back on their bikes for time trial events on the 16th , followed by road events on 17th and 18th.

In the Paralympic Cycling, athletes with Cerebral palsy, visual impairment, amputation and spinal cord injury compete. In this competition, the following classes compete.

  •  LC1(for people with upper body disability),
  •  LC2 (for athletes with a disability in the lower limbs, where a prosthesis can be used),
  •  LC3 (for athletes pedaling with only one lower limb),
  •  LC4 (for athletes with a higher level of disability, usually affecting both lower limbs with or without impairment in the upper limbs),
  •  Handbike (for spinal cord injured athletes)
  •  Tandem (for visually impaired athletes, accompanied by a guide
