The APC president Andrew Parsons was elected as president of the Brazilian Paralympic Committee - BPC this weekend.  Andrew was the former Secretary General of BPC, during eight years and was acclaimed by all the 31 delegates representing the seven national federations’ members of BPC.

The executive board is also composed by the vice president of finance, Mr. Mizael Conrado , gold medalist for the football 5-a-side in 2004 (Athens) and 2008 (Beijing) Paralympic Games and the vice-president of administration, Mr.  Luiz Claudio Alves Pereira, former Paralympic athlete with nine medals in athletics 1984, 1988 and 1992 Paralympic Games.

During the same occasion, two members at large of the administrative council and three members for the finance council were also elected. Andrew will run the BPC for the next four years of this Paralympic Cicle, and will face a big challenge, as he mentioned: “we came back from Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games as number nine in the world ranking, and will be a huge task to keep Brazil in the top 10 in London 2012.”
